Answers
Q: How do I get a price list?
A: We provided price lists to professional Photographers only. Send an e-mail with your studio name, website URL and e-mail address to info@albumdesigners.com. A complete price list with ordering instructions will be sent via e-mail.
Q: Who will design my album?
A: We have a full time staff of trained digital album designers and photo retouchers. Current we employ 32 people in our design department.
Q: With so many designers, how do you ensure consistency?
A: Each photographer is assigned to a regular designer who knows what the specific needs of their individual clients are. The average designer has been with our company for 2 years. Our designers share their progress with each other at staff meetings, and function as a team. A design team manager reviews each completed design, before it is submitted for your review.
Q: How much input do I have in my design?
A: At the time of ordering, you fill out an order form that asks several questions about your design. You can tag any special images that you would like to feature prominently in the design, and you can submit images to be used as background only. You can group images into subfolders so that you want to appear together on a page. Your selections are used as a guide for the designer who will use their own creativity from there.
Q: Can I make any changes to a finished design?
A: There is no charge for the first three spreads changes. After that, there is a $10 charge per spread for design revisions. A spread is the same as two sides/one panorama.
Q: Is any artwork done to the images for the album?
A: Our designers are expert retouchers. They will soften skin and retouch blemishes upon request. More extensive retouching is available at an additional charge.
Q: What types of cover designs are available?
A: We offer three different covers; smooth, double matt, and padded. We offer edge gilding in Gold and Silver. Plain white paper edges are also available.
Q: What materials do you use for the cover?
A: We have a choice of several materials. All are man-made and have the look and feel of genuine leather.
Q: How should I prepare my files?
A: Submit JPG's in RGB or sRGB. We prefer the ones that came sraight from your camera. If you crop or do any work on them, be sure not to compress them too much. Use a high quality setting like JPEG 10 or 12. Here is a PDF file with detailed instructions for file submission. Instructions

Q: Can I submit my own design?
A: Yes. Here is a link to a webpage and PDF document with specific instructions. Print & Binding instructions
Q: My contracts state that I will deliver another brand of Albums. Can I have you do the design and prints, and then have the books mounted elsewhere?
A: No.
Q: Can I submit my files in CMYK?
A: No. Your digital camera takes pictures in RGB or sRGB which are much wider color spaces then CMYK. The wider color space of RGB yields the most colors possible. Converting images to CMYK will choke down your colors and in effect diminish the quality of your work.
Q: Do you print on real photo paper?
A: Yes. Our Durst Lambda printer uses sharp laser imaging to expose the image directly to photo paper. The result is the sharpest and best color available today. Our prints have better color and deeper blacks then prints made on common printers like the Fuji Frontier. We use Fuji smooth surface paper and laminate it to add texture.

Q: What paper do you use?
A: Mitsubishi Professional photo paper.
